Receipt Hog

January 21st, 2016 at 08:18 pm

I am sure some of you probably use this app already, but for those who don't, I thought I would mention it. I tried Receipt Hog a year or so ago and uninstalled it. It would never credit my receipts. The app was clunky for lack of a better description. As I was going through my micro earning programs today, I saw it and tried again. I just uploaded 5 receipts and connected my email and I am at 250 points. You can cash out with as little as 1000 points for $5 Amazon or Paypal. If you save up and get 4500, it is $30.

You have 14 days to upload your receipts and you can send yourself a weekly reminder. Since I mystery shop, this should be a great "double dipper" for me. I am getting reimbursed anyhow and I can also upload the receipts to earn points from Receipt Hog. Of course you are under no obligation, but if you are interested my referral is KEZ87274. Whether you use it or not, I am truly happy to share an app that can benefit someone! If you do use the app, let me know how it works out for you. I will let you know when I reach 4500 points (there is a maximum upload of 20 receipts per week).

Sounds interesting ... I might try that! We usually have at least 3 receipts per week just for groceries, plus whatever else we get during the week.

Do you get coins based on the amount of the receipt or where it's from? I hadn't heard of it, so thanks for mentioning it.

I love receipt hog. Sadly I haven' been able to get my stuff together to get the receipts all processed lately but I still try!

I signed up for this, and for ibotta while I was at it. Now that I have a slick new work phone, app-based stuff is a lot more doable.

@creditcardfree Yes, the coins are based on the receipt amount. From what I understand after 100 coins all receipts will be 5 coins until the new week begins.

Receipt Hog is great! Smile I cashed out for a $10 gift card sometime last year, and have enough points for another $10 card now, but am waiting to get to the $30 mark.

Another great app is ReceiptPal. Triple dipping. Smile

Thanks FT for mentioning another one. Going to sign up for both.

I signed up in Feb using FT's referral code, and I am only 203 coins away from my $30 Amazon credit. I am ruthless, I have bogarted all receipts in my household and have friends saving them for me as well. I love when I find them in the grocery store parking lot or the cart! I average about 80 coins a week.

I'll have to look into Receipt Pal.

I used your referral code, Laura. Thanks for the tip. Not all of us keep up with these apps. I get most of my tips here!

Wow Liz! Mr FT saves (some) of his receipts for me, but U don't have too many.

@turning a new leaf There is info in my sidebar on where to get started on mystery shopping. Feel free to email me at agoddessoffrugality at gmail dot com (I will delete this in a couple of days so my email isn't out in cyber space). Please put Saving Advice in the subject line so I know it isn't junk Smile
